We've already seen how the price of a home can change from state to state, but how will that affect the purchasing power of your income as well?  How far will your money go if you decide to move from Ohio to California?

Let's have a look using an example of a family with a $80,000 annual salary living in Sacramento, CA who decides to pack up and head to Dayton, OH.

According an online salary comparison calculator:

Groceries will cost: 23% less
Housing will cost: 48% less
Utilities will cost: 4% more
Transportation will cost: 8% less
Healthcare will cost: 16% less

Not bad is it? You'd certainly be saving quite a bit of money, but is it worth it? :)
