The age old question...should one replace or repair something isn't quite working/looking right?

Well, if it's a DVD player or a remote control, you are probably best off replacing of course.  Given that it's quite often easier to 'buy a new one' this mentality seems to transfer over into our homes as well.  

But when it comes to your home, you might be better off repairing than replacing.  Cracks in walls for example can be filled and patched.  Old cabinets can be refaced as well, instead of buying a whole new set. Your decision might also be based on what you want.  Sometimes it's nice to treat yourself to something completely new isn't it?

Keep in mind though, making an educated decision is always best.  Get estimates for both repairs and replacements.
