Another acronym to memorize (NAMP) this one for the National Association of Mortgage Professionals, which was launched not too long ago.  It's apparently in attempt to help and advance the mortgage industry and professional, respectively.

Someone obviously found a way to make quick buck, and we'll probably be seeing a bunch of newly certfied NAMP mortgage agents (all of whom have had to pay a nice fee to become 'certified').  All will have passed a check that includes:

1. having a valid license
2. being a member be in good standing
3. continuing their education withing the mortage field
4. abiding by and promoting the Code of Ethics
e) passing a background check

So as not to be so pessimistic, perhaps it will really help the industry.  Perhaps new agents will be better qualified and more able to better serve the masses!  Let's be honest, with the way things are now, most of us will need a bit of extra help!

Good luck guys!
