You probably don't think too much about your attic if you have one.  You've probably got a bunch of boxes there full of decorations and the like right?

But you do probably pay attention to your roof though.  After all it has to be fixed and replaced...and that's often costly.  Have you ever thought about how your attic and the roof might be related?

Your attic, if you ever go up there is most likely warm and even hot.  If it is particularly hot, pay attention!  This could signal that the ceilings in your home aren't insulated well enough. Perhaps an upgrade will help here, and also help save utility bills as well.  But this also relates to your roof as well in the following way:  As your attic heats, it also heats the roof from underneath.  As this goes on year after year, it could likely cause the roofing material to breakdown at a faster rate.
