In the last post I wrote about how flexibility can stretch your success as a Real Estate Agent. This post focuses on Adaptability. You're asking: "and HOW is flexibility so different from adaptability?"

Being flexible means stretching and moving to accommodate clients and business situations. Being adaptable means that you get comfortable and confident with new situations; resulting in personal growth and permanent change.

Adapting is what happens when you aren't just being flexible to accommodate a new situation or client, but truly integrate situations into your workflow and life to start thriving on those changes. You've adapted. You've conquered. Now you're unstoppable, because adapting and changing to accommodate evolving situations is the very definition of growth.

Flexibility and adaptability are very important characteristics in a Real Estate Agent's arsenal. You'll need to be flexible to work with different personalities and move with confidence through temporary situations. You'll need to be adaptable to grow and evolve to meet the changing real estate marketplace.

A great example is technology: the tools and tricks at an agent's fingertips online grow exponentially every year. Are you mining all your resources and tools? Are you adapting to stay current and work with the tools your clients are utilizing?

Being adaptable starts with awareness. Once you notice the changes and challenges that you're facing you can decide to approach them with flexibility to ride through the moment or you can decide to adapt and make long-term changes to your work. By being both flexible and adaptable you'll be able to surmount any obstacle; and only grow stronger.
