We've already gone over determining the value of your home before you put it on the market correct? But now let's ask what exactly goes into doing that? Here are a few things to consider: Structural items: this includes ceilings, floors, doors, walls, and windows. These are the most important things to have a look at. Also included here are carpet, paint, and other floor coverings as well. Plumbing: You'll need to make sure that the plumbing in the kitchen/bathrooms is up and running smoothly. If you can get around to it, try to unclog that slow draining sink! :) Electric: Same as plumbing - see above. Make sure that switches work smoothly Details: Fixtures, doornobs, drawer handles. While this might seem insignificant, and given other upgrades/improvements, it is, but they do add a nice finishing touch and make a good first impression. Any other ideas out there? |
