Home and Garden TV (HGTV) has recently given a list of helpful tips to help better sell your home. While these are seemingly simple things to think of, when one is busy trying to sell they often ignore those little things that can in fact make all the difference. Entrance is everything: It is the first thing a potential buyer sees. If the outside is run down, it lessens the chance that they will even venture inside (no matter if the inside is 100% better then the outside) They advice to use glossy paint in bold cheery colors for the door, install new hardware, use a doormat, and place several lush plants on the porch.
Leave plenty of space; part of the appeal of a home is envisioning its potential, what the potential new owner could do with it, if they bought it. A room full of the current owner’s belongings leaves nothing to the imagination. Light is always a key factor. Think of women in the dressing rooms, we all know that nothing makes an outfit more unappealing, then a dull or florescent light. Fast recognition: In today’s world where advertising is everywhere, brand names can bring the sell. |
