As you've probably read here quite a few times, it always pays to do some research when doing virtually any part of your real estate transaction.  This also applies to hiring an agent as well.  When looking for the best agent to help you buy/sell your property, why not put them to the test and see who comes out ahead?

Here's a quick tip:

Have each agent put together a list (around 5-10 items) detailing how they expect to help you buy/sell and promote your home once it goes on the market.  Once you have a few agents that have returned the list to you, you can then compare to see which might be the best fit for you.

Doing this will keep the agents on their toes and also allow you to make an informed decision.
